Our story

About Bras Without Wires

Bras Without Wires was established to provide beautiful, non-wired bras in natural, breathable fibres for women going through breast cancer, and more broadly to provide a real alternative to wired bras.

As a breast cancer survivor, I launched Bras Without Wires in 2014 to provide the sort of bras I wanted to wear during and after treatment, but was unable to find. The existing products were often orthopaedic in style and did little to preserve a fragile sense of identity and self-esteem.

Comfort should still feel like you

After a sudden and unexpected breast cancer diagnosis in 2006, I discovered how difficult it was to find non-wired cotton bras in larger cup sizes. The experience stayed with me. It was important to hold on to who I was in normal life, not just who I became during treatment.

And so Bras Without Wires was conceived: beautiful, non-wired bras in breathable, natural fabrics and proper cup sizes. The original Annie Bra was made in Australia from soft Austrian organic cotton, and the idea has continued to grow into a broader collection of everyday wireless essentials.

Giving back

As the fourth consecutive generation of women on my mother’s side of the family to have breast cancer, I am a proud supporter of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Ten percent of the RRP of the pink Annie Bra was dedicated to research supporting the goal of zero deaths by 2030.

Our aim remains simple: make comfort feel beautiful, useful and completely normal.
